Service Fees Policies

To enable Tripitaca to run operations smoothly and cover the costs of products and services we provide, we charge a service fee payable by the guests and a monthly subscription fee payable by the hosts.

Service Fee

Guests pay a service fee of 8% of the booking subtotal for every booking made. The fee is displayed to the guests during checkout process before they confirm their booking.

Transaction Fee

Guests pay an additional 2.9% of the booking + service fee subtotal for every booking made. The fee is also displayed to the guest during the checkout process before they confirm their booking.

Subscription Fee

Hosts pay a subscription fee of Ksh 2000 on their first bedroom followed by Ksh 1000 for every additional bedroom on a monthly basis to access premium features that are not available on a basic account. This includes the counteroffer feature, for tonight only feature, curated packages and special offer feature. The fee is payable on a monthly basis and once paid the features are automatically enabled for premium accounts.

Taxes on Service Fee

Where required by applicable laws of the public of Kenya, taxes including VAT may be charged on top of the service fee.
